1st Trip to Iowa--Part One

On May 2nd, we embarked on a 1,200 mile journey from Virginia Beach to Central Iowa. Will and Maggie were great little travellers and we made it in two days. We were prepared to arrive on Day 3, but things went smoothly and we pulled into Nevada late on Day 2. We were all glad to be at our destination and out of the car!

On Day 1 we stopped in Morehead, Kentucky for the night. It was in the middle of a rain storm and apparently we were lucky to get a room. We ended up with a jacuzzi suite--it's just too bad we weren't there long enough to enjoy it! This was Will's first night sleeping in a location other than home since he came home from the hospital, but he slept really well and only woke once like he usually does. Maggie, however, heard noises and barked much of the night. Kids!

On Day 2 we were making pretty good time and were going through Indianapolis where one of my best friends lives. We were able to meet her and her 2 kids for a quick lunch along the interstate. Jack is almost 3 and Cameron is just one month younger than Will. It was fun to meet each other's new additions!
