Trip to KC

Friday
We headed to Kansas City with Papa Pez, Grandma Jan, Tony & Sofia for a weekend getaway. It was a hot but fun time!

Our 1st stop was in Osceola for breakfast.

We arrived safely and happily at Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun.

Will took Papa for a spin.

Thomas enjoyed stomping around on the Snoopy stage...

...and then he froze and wasn't sure what to do when "Sally" came on the stage.

Later in the afternoon, we visited the Oceans of Fun side off the park. The water felt great!
Unfortunately, this was the only picture I took. Fortunately, it's pretty cute!

We enjoyed snacks in the lobby that evening.

Later that evening, we walked to a fantastic BBQ place.
Will proudly held Papa's hand all the way there and back.

Saturday

We all ate breakfast together, and then headed our separate ways. There were a few more things we wanted to do before heading home.

The kids loved playing in the fountain in our hotel after breakfast.

Our next stop was Crown Center.

There was an exhibit with scenes from different children's stories. The boys enjoyed exploring and playing.

I'm pretty sure Thomas wanted to take the puppy home.

For lunch we went to Fritz's. You call your order in from your table, and then it is delivered by a train.

Will thought it was a fun experience...but they don't make very good cheeseburgers.

Thomas was amazed by the delivery and devoured the fruit.

It was fun to watch the fountains outside.

 In addition to fun shops, there was also a Hallmark museumy place and Kaleidescope, which was sponsored by Hallmark and had crafts for kids.

 Our next adventure was LegoLand Discovery.

Will got to help make a Lego block in the factory tour.

Somewhere in the heat and fun, we decided to stay another night. We had an easy going evening and ended the day with a dip in the pool.

Sunday

We stopped at a little Amish store on the way home. Thomas was delighted to see the cows.

We stayed up late and naps were forgotten so we have tired boys now that we're home, but we had such a fun time!
