6 Fun Facts of Will at Age 6

#1: Will is the sweetest kid around! Example 1-I scraped my hand on a drawer and it started bleeding. He jumped into action. He got me a wet paper towel to hold on my wound, insisted I sit on the couch where he covered me up with a blanket and then brought me a teddy bear from his room to snuggle with. He sat next to me with an arm around my shoulders while I "recovered". Example 2-I was tucking Will in the night after his birthday party and asked him what is favorite present was that he received. His reply after some quiet thought, "The best was having all my friends here." (This was just a family party, so his "friends" mean "family members".)

#2: He is getting really good at reading. At one time, we wondered if he would ever sit still long enough to read. Now, he can sit with a pile of books and look at them on his own, he loves sitting with one of us and listens to stories, and it is super fun to listen to him read books from school that they practice as a class. We have even found stories from our home collection that he can read! It so fun to see his progress!

#3: Will loves to be outside. He is a great help shoveling the driveway and sidewalk, spends lots of time outside building snow things in the winter and doing sporty things in the warmer months. He's looking forward to tee ball this spring.

#4: Things he loves: Ninja Turtles, Lori blanket, Tiny (the monkey), snack time, his family, and school. Occasionally, he even gets sad on the weekends when he finds out it isn't a school day.

#5: He has an amazingly random memory! He might not remember the activity he did in PE today, but he remembers something small from 2 years ago. For example, today, our driveway was a little slippery, so he gave me marching lessons like they taught him at a one hour hockey event he participated in 2 years ago. He also showed me how to properly stand up if I were to fall down. He hasn't been ice skating since but remembered these lessons very clearly.

#6: Growing up so fast! Not only is he getting taller and learning new amazing things, but his demeanor and actions are seeming more grown up. He surprises us with how helpful he can be without being asked and asks questions that extend beyond the "why?" we were so used to.
