The last couple years, our fire department has teamed up with our local pizza place, Papa's Pizza, for one night to deliver pizza and check smoke detectors. Will heard a friend talking about it at school and insisted that we order pizza so the firefighters could deliver. Since there are smoke detectors in the bedrooms, it was a good incentive (bribe) to get Will to clean up his room! Thomas was thrilled to watch the different fire vehicles travel up and down our street delivering pizzas and you could hear brief moments of sirens from all sides of town. When the "delivery truck" came to our house, Thomas was instantly not as interested, but Will could hardly wait! He sat in the truck, tried out all the sirens and showed the firemen where the smoke detectors were (and they all passed!).
