1st Half of October

The Keisers have been B-U-S-Y! School, homework, Sunday School, soccer practice, soccer games, vet appointments, Cub Scouts, swimming lessons, and all the laundry that accompanies the activities and everything in between!

I am surprised at how much homework Will has in 1st grade. Sight words, math, spelling practice and reading. He seems to have 2 to 3 tests a week (tests?! in 1st grade!?)--always a spelling test on Friday and then vocabulary or social studies or comprehension. 1st grade is soooo much different than kindergarten!

Will is in Sunday School. I am teaching 2nd to 3rd grade Sunday School. Thomas either gets to stay home with Daddy or has actually enjoyed the nursery (he calls it his school and proudly gets his backpack ready).

Soccer is getting to be lots of fun to watch. Will scored 2 goals a few weeks ago and scored another goal last week. At this age, they are starting to grasp the idea of teamwork.
Great G & G came to cheer on Will
Maggie has had several trips the vet recently. Originally she went with what we thought was an eye infection...long story made *really* short...it wasn't eye infection, after several weeks of treatment for an ulcer, she had to have surgery and now she has one eye. We were prepared for the outcome, but of course we were hopeful that she would come home with both eyes. She is adjusting to monocular vision but also has the cone limiting her vision until her stitches finally come out on Monday. The boys have done really well while she heals.
Our adorable Maggie
Jason volunteered to be the Scout Leader for Will's Tiger Scout group. Will is very excited about all things Cub Scouts.
So handsome!
Ready for their 1st meeting
Thomas had his speech therapy evaluation a while back and the speech therapy said he would benefit from services. We are currently waiting for insurance approval. He is enjoying swimming lessons and loves when we do "Ring Around the Rosey".

Other highlights:
We met Baby Jordan

We went to Natasha & Jacob's wedding (kid-free!)

Rode on a fire truck and ate pancakes

Wow! That sounds a bit like a Christmas card update...and it's only October!
