4th of July

We had a very busy, very fun and very HOT Fourth of July. We went with Papa Randy and Grandma Lori to the fire station for a pancake breakfast and to climb on the firetrucks.

Then, we met Auntie Amber and Phil in Ames for the parade. It was 100 degrees, but we had a great time and Will ended up with a bag full of candy! After the parade, we headed to Great Plains to enjoy the air conditioning and pizza.

Check out those pink cheeks! Luckily we applied enough sunscreen
and he didn't leave with a sunburn!

Will's stash at the end of the parade (minus the popsicles, a sucker,
a bottle of water, and a yard stick).
After stopping at home to change and cool off, then we headed to Ankeny to BBQ with Jess, David, Lucas and Cordelia and another couple and their daughter. Will and Lucas always have a good time together and this visit was NO exception! They are actually starting to play with each other and they are lots of fun to watch!
The boys!

Too bad they looked away, they were having a great time bouncing
on the zebra and laughing hysterically!

That night, we headed out to the fireworks. Will had never been to the fireworks, and we were unsure what his reaction would be. We were thinking he might jump at each *pop*, but he really enjoyed them (until he got bored with them, or maybe he was just overly tired).

A family sitting nearby offered Will a sparkler. He was AMAZED!
